New Delhi, December 11, 2020: In order to explore the possibilities of making online education accessible to everyone, a group of ministers constituted by the government has suggested to the government that all students need to be provided electronic devices like laptops, tablets.
Such facilities should be given on priority basis especially to students studying in government and local bodies schools. Along with this, it has been suggested to set up an education technology forum at the national level to strengthen online education.
Group of ministers formed to strengthen e-education
The Group of Ministers, constituted to strengthen e-education under the chairmanship of Union Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, has currently made several important suggestions related to it. This group of ministers include Arjun Ram Meghwal, Rao Inderjit Singh and Sanjay Dhotre, besides the Union Petroleum Minister Pradhan. The Group of Ministers, during this period, understood the challenge of not keeping up with lab work due to the schools being closed. Under this, the group has suggested adopting the suggestion of virtual lab.
Children need to be protected from unnecessary facts spread on the Internet
The Group of Ministers believes that providing better and correct course material to students during online studies is also a challenge. They emphasized the need to examine the facts thoroughly. At the same time, to protect children from unnecessary facts spread on the Internet, it is necessary to provide such electronic devices to children, so that only better information can be reach to them. Along with this, emphasis has also been laid on making the entire online education technically strong. The special thing is that before the committee had also given its suggestions regarding e-governance.
Large number of students do not have mobile, laptop or television
The group of ministers engaged in exploring the possibilities of promoting online education has had to face many challenges during the Corona crisis as most students did not have mobile, laptop or television. Due to this, he/she was completely deprived of the online studies being conducted by the closed schools. This is the reason why the group has considered internet and mobile or laptop for online studies.
