The company, which has studios in Preston and Chorley, claims to be the first dedicated hot yoga studio in Bolton offering hot yoga, non-heated yoga and pilates classes as well as workshops, yoga teacher training and yoga retreats.
It was granted retrospective planning permission last week to use Unit 24 at Mill 3 within the Halliwell Industrial Estate in Rossini Street.
The newly-refurbished space offers two contemporary studios, changing rooms and showers with parking available on site.
The studio’s mission is to create Bolton’s own yoga community and to inspire clients through the practice of yoga, gong sound baths and sister circles.
But teacher Madeline Diaz Meiners said the business is now struggling financially due to the coronavirus crisis which has forced the studio to shut.
She said: “We’ve already invested a lot of amount of money into this. But we had to close the studio eight weeks ago.
“The situation we are in is quite critical because now we’ve got to pay all this rent. We haven’t got any money in the bank because we’ve only been trading for six weeks.”
The studio is now offering all of its classes online – 47 live and recorded classes per week varying from absolute beginners all the way up to advanced.
The teachers have also agreed to operate as a cooperative during lockdown.
This means after the teachers make enough money to pay the rent, the rest of the takings are split equally, rather than taking payments from each class.
The Mill Studios has different offers available online with unlimited access from £10 per week to drop-sessions at £5 and a free taster session too.
For those totally new to yoga, the studio is offering a four-week beginners’ course for just £20 per household starting on Saturday, May 16.
The teachers’ cooperative are also offering free classes to NHS workers.
