Derulo has recently decided to try his hand at acting and will star as one of the Isley Brothers in the new film Spinning Gold.

The film stars Tony-nominee Jeremy Jordan as music exec Neil Bogart, who was behind some of the biggest hits of the ’70s as the founder of Casablanca Records.

Casablanca Records was the wildly successful independent record label that counted among its roster of talent including Donna Summer, Gladys Knight, the Isley Brothers, the Village People, Bill Withers, and KISS.

In the movie, Derulo plays Ron Isley as he and his brothers begin their rise to fame thanks to the help of Bogart.

The star has a full roster lately and is also set to judge a new BBC Three series, Project Icon, in the hope to shape a new star into the industry.

The six-part series will see eight aspiring artists compete against each other to see whether they can transform from a bedroom singer into an all-around music star.
