A service crew at a Jollibee outlet recently went viral as she earned praise from netizens for her determination to study despite the challenges that she faces amid the COVID-19 crisis. Though she needs to also focus on her work, this young student finds time amid her busy schedule to attend her online school and catch up on her lessons!
Jan Dominique Agravante is a graduating student with the course of Business Administration, Major in Marketing at the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Marikina. For the past 4 years, she has been supporting herself and helping her parents earn extra money as service crew at Jollibee.
Indeed, things had been challenging for Jan. And though the pandemic brought more challenges to many people, it seems to have worked in her favor because she could attend her online classes even though she is at work.
Each time she has a schedule for online classes, all she has to do is take a break from work and join the lessons. Instead of rushing to and from her workplace and school, she is able to juggle her time more easily.
“And imagine mo sacrifice nyan kung walang pandemiya. Pasok trabaho, karipas ng takbo papuntang school, balik sa trabaho, review hanggang madaling araw, gising ng maaga papasok sa trabaho, papasok sa school. #proudworkingstudent,” a netizen pointed out after Jan’s photos went viral.
Of course, that does not mean that things are all so easy for Jan now, yet she is willing to go the extra mile so she can reach for her dreams.
“Walang nakakapagod sa pagtupad ng pangarap,” she said.
“Sa lahat ng gagawin natin, mapa-online class man iyan, trabaho, or sa bahay lang, kailangan nating isapuso lahat ng gagawin. Be productive everyday kahit na may pandemic po tayong nararanasan.”
Her photos went viral after these were shared by one of her co-workers, Jirah Nicolas.
“Every time na umaattend ka ng online class na naka uniform k sobra kaming ginanahang mag tropa. Sobrang nakaka proud kasi kahit walang maayos na table and internet connection gumagawa ka pa rin ng way,” Jirah wrote.
You’re definitely a wonderful role model, Jan! Keep it up. Everyone is praying for your success in life…
