The recipients are:
- John Edimani (Mineral Processing – Unitech);
- Ryan Kombra (Mine Engineering – Unitech);
- Violet McMiul (Geology –UPNG); and,
- Vanessa Tapi (Agriculture Extension – UOG).
Additionally, K92 has partnered with Pagini Kainantu Limited (PKL) to award two scholarships for Women in Mining to students who are currently in their pre-final year of study in a field related to logistics, commercial or business management.
These students will complete their final year industrial traineeship with PKL.
The recipients of this scholarships are;
- KURIE ENDOPIA (IT – UPNG); and,
- Lugina URGUHART (Business Management – UPNG);

“It is with a tremendous sense of pride to announce the latest recipients of our tertiary scholarship programme.
“These are outstanding individuals, with very high potential and we are proud to be a positive factor in their professional development.

The K92 mining scholarship programme was established in 2019, with medals named in honour of senior Papua New Guinean leaders within K92, and annually awards students in their third year of study in the fields of mining, geology and metallurgy.
The programme was expanded in 2022 to include the women in mining scholarship.
The students awarded in K92 mining’s tertiary scholarship programme will also complete their final year industrial traineeship with K92 to further augment their professional development.
K92 said the scholarship recipients were selected based on their academic excellence, leadership skills and strong characters.
In addition to these scholarships, K92 is a sponsor of the PNG University of Technology in Lae and the University of Papua New Guinea.
