A Christian university in Virginia states it finished its semester with no coronavirus cases regardless of getting sharp criticism over its president’s choice to keep the campus open for trainees.
Liberty University president Jerry Falwell Jr. was commonly condemned for his decision to reopen his campus to students who had nowhere else to enter March.

As the semester concerns an end, Falwell revealed that there were no cases of COVID-19 on campus.
“We are happy to God that nobody who resided in a campus dormitory or who worked in a campus office evaluated favorable for the virus,” he said in a farewell note, The College Repair reported.
“No positive COVID-19 test anywhere in our region was linked to Liberty trainees who went back to their dormitory after Spring Break.”
Ad -story continues below Falwell added that the only cases of the novel coronavirus in the university neighborhood were workers working from home or off-campus and “their infections were all traced to contacts in the local community.”
After trainees were welcomed back in March, health experts checked the school in the middle of concerns from the community, according to WDBJ-TV in Roanoke.
The Central Virginia Health District did not discover any infractions of Virginia’s executive order that limited particular organisations and organizations’ operations throughout the coronavirus pandemic.
“Food in the locations, including the buffet line, was being served by employees. Normal self-serve products, like bags of chips, were transferred behind counter tops, while condiments were provided in single packages,” the regional report read.
“Personnel were sterilizing equipment like soda makers and utensil dispensers every fifteen minutes.”

Although the domestic halls and other campus buildings were opened, Liberty held online classes and restricted the number of individuals in structures.

Falwell stated universities have a responsibility to their trainees and institutions need to think about that when deciding whether to reopen school in the fall.

“I think colleges have an obligation to do whatever they can to continue the trainee’s education. That’s what we did,” Falwell stated.
“We do it in a safe manner. We really became the model. We had all takeout at our dining establishments. We had social distancing. All the academic structures were open so they might spread out. And … it worked perfectly.”
